‘Reign’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Religious warfare in ‘Blood for Blood’

Reign Logo -As we get further and further along into “Reign” season 2, there is one thing that is almost surely going to be clear: Drama is just about at every turn. Not only that, but Mary is going to have even more to worry about than she has so far.

One of the biggest troubles at the center of next Thursday’s new episode “Blood for Blood” is simple, and it traces back to a battle between Catholics and Protestants that anyone who has read a history book will know very well. Unfortunately, the amount of violence here has Mary wondering whether or not there could be a Civil War coming very soon.

Just in case this was a little too dramatic for you, there is a silver lining and a more lighthearted story coming, at least in the event that you want see an interesting journey for Lola to find a new love … maybe. Take a look at the official synopsis:

“Tensions between Protestants and Catholics escalate when bloodshed at a Protestant service causes an already concerned Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Francis (Toby Regbo) to intervene on the eve of Greer’s (Celina Sinden) wedding. Bash (Torrance Coombs) and Leith (Jonathan Keltz) lead a search for the guilty that reveals a surprising secret about Castleroy (guest star Michael Therriault) that could destroy his union with Greer. Meanwhile, Francis receives an unwelcome gift from his dead father. Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) discovers a sex journal, with clues leading to the best lover at court, who just might be a match for Lola (Anna Popplewell).”
