‘The Blacklist’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Megan Boone, James Spader, and what’s behind the door
After tonight’s new episode of “The Blacklist,” we were somewhat curious to see where the NBC show was going to head in the next new episode. The title in “The Mombasa Cartel” does not appear to be tied to anything, and when we saw the synopsis for it recently, the only thing that we thought was a long-lasting story was the one revolving around Ressler.
Let’s start things off here by sharing that synopsis, just in case you have not seen it already:
“Agent Liz Keen (Megan Boone) consults Red (James Spader) over what he knows about the deadly underworld of wildlife poachers. Meanwhile Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) develops a dangerous habit.”
What thankfully has us much more excited is that the promo after Monday night’s episode made it clear that there is going to be a story in here about human-hunters, which actually may be the “poachers” that the synopsis mentions. We just thought this was going to be about the endangered animal trade or something else like that.
Most importantly, though, we are actually going to be finding out soon what is behind that mystery door that has remained a key part of the story the past few weeks. Thankfully, the show is not going to keep that hanging over us for the entirety of this season … which is especially good, since there is a pretty enormous hiatus coming up as NBC readies their next new drama in “State of Affairs” for next month.

Loved episode 6. Kind of thought Tom would be behind the door. Hope someone dispatches with him soon though. Hopefully Liz will calm down and get something going with Don. Red still a puzzlement.

I hope we are going to see more into what’s going on with Agent Ressler.I really want to see what drives him. What in his past made him want to be an FBI agent? I am also waiting (not patiently) to see a deeper friendship develop between Liz and Ressler. I was somewhat disappointed with “The Front.” Arom ends up holding hands with our new agent who has only been on the scene for two weeks, but Ressler is no where near Liz, his partner of over a year, at her time of need. I know the Liz and Red thread is front and center, but if this is even some sort of realistic fiction shouldn’t Liz and Ressler at least be concerned for one another’s safety.
And what about the past connection between Red and Cooper? Apparently Red has some info on Cooper that could be damaging to his career, but the writer’s have never completed that thread.
