‘Dancing with the Stars’ 19: Is Cheryl Burke getting set to leave?

HereAre we about to see a major departure in the world of “Dancing with the Stars“? At the moment, it’s at least possible per what longtime pro Cheryl Burke is saying right now.

Speaking in a new interview right now with TV Guide, Burke (who first made a name for herself all the way back in season 2 with Drew Lachey as a partner) explained the reasons why she may choose this year to say goodbye to the series:

“As of now, it’s still up in the air if I’m coming back or not. Contractually, my contract is over and there’s other opportunities that have been out there for me … Will it most likely be my last season? I would have to say yes.

“It’s so hard for me to talk about this, because I owe my life to Dancing with the Stars. They’ve changed my life completely. They’re my family and it’s always hard to say goodbye … to a bunch of people that really believed in me from the start, and continued to believe in me for the last 10 years.”

We don’t feel like this is necessarily confirmation of anything right now. If Cheryl ends up staying on board the series, then she is really just the first of so many people in television who claim that they could be leaving, only to later decide that they want to come back after contract negotiations.

With that being said, we would not be shocked if this is when Cheryl decides to take her last bow. Ten years is a long time to be doing anything, especially in the world of television. Also, there are opportunities for her out there that may not be anywhere near as demanding physically over a short period of time.
