‘Boardwalk Empire’ series finale spoilers: The first details on ‘Eldorado’ from HBO
Is it fair to say that today is going to be a busy one when it comes to all things “Boardwalk Empire” definitely, and we are going to start things off right now with a quick discussion of the official synopsis for “Eldorado” from HBO.
Obviously, the title itself may be a reference to the mythical city of gold, which is in a way what Nucky and many other characters have tried to build with their empires during prohibition and beyond. What we also take away from the synopsis superficially is that both Nucky, Margaret, and Luciano are all still alive, and the same can be said for Gillian, though her state may not have you that excited. Take a look below:
“After a shakeup, Nucky looks to relocate to Manhattan from Atlantic City. Margaret impresses Nucky and a grain-company stockholder; Luciano tends to unfinished business while establishing a mob commission; Willie shares underworld details with his boss, the U.S. Attorney; Nucky visits Gillian at the hospital. In 1897, Nucky copes with a family crisis, while making a deal with the Commodore that will settle his future.”
What we are mostly intrigued by is the decision to continue to include the Young Nucky flashbacks in the final episode, mostly because we always thought of these as a way to build the story more, and to inform the Nucky character. What more is there to inform? Where else do you go from here?
