NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3 spoilers: Gillian Anderson preparing to shoot

Hannibal -Fannibals, rejoice! While you may be waiting many more months for “Hannibal” season 3 to premiere, the new season will start filming at some point in the very near future.

This was something confirmed more or less by new series regular Gillian Anderson during a wonderful AMA on Reddit today, though she did not really say too much about what we can expect from Bidelia now that she and Hannibal Lecter are on the move and seemingly off somewhere in Europe. Will Graham will be the hunter in the early part of this season, doing almost anything and everything he can in order to find the killer.

Anderson did have something very nice to say about working alongside Mads Mikkelsen on the series:

“He’s an extraordinary actor, and a great pleasure to work with. And a lovely person. And a great pleasure to play off of.”

We don’t like to give away specific filming dates for shows, mostly because it can run the risk of screwing up production if there are people running around exterior locations. However, what we will say for now is that production for the show will begin later this month, and is going to continue well into the new year.

The first handful of episodes will be mostly revolving around Will’s search rather than just matters at the BAU, but most of your favorites will return in some shape or form. This could even include Mason Verger, given that we have heard that we will be meeting at least one other person in the new season with a connection to Michael Pitt’s character.

NBC will premiere the series this coming spring, and we’ll definitely have a whole lot more to say about it before then. Also, we have the return of the “Hannibal” podcast coming up next year, as well!
