ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Will Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion have Christmas episode?

Castle -Everyone loves a good Christmas episode, right? Well, they can at least be cozy, since it feels like you are really watching the lives of some of your favorite characters year-round. We don’t know quite how it makes them feel more real, but somehow, it manages to.

So when it comes to “Castle,” the great news today is that there will once again be a holiday special this year! This show has taught us in the past that Christmas is not exactly Beckett’s day, and that is something Rick will have to warm her up to like she’s just coming in from the December cold. Maybe this will be a further opportunity for just this very thing to happen.

What we can tell you about the “Castle” holiday episode for this year, at least for the time being, is this. The title for the episode, per CastleTV, is “Have Yourself a Mobster Little Christmas.” We find ourselves torn. We love Christmas episodes, but at the same time, we hate the mob. So many of the stories are the same year after year after year: Mob boss hires shady characters, the good guys find shady characters, the shady characters eventually lead back to the mob boss. Close the book now.

Maybe this will be different. Two of the show’s most-accomplished writers in Dara and Chad Creasey are writing it, so in Creasey we trust? There’s also an exciting possibility that this will be the first Christmas for Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion’s characters as a married couple, at least if things go according to plan right now and we actually see that much-hyped wedding in November. This holiday episode will be #10 in the season.

In the end, we’re still excited, even if our nervousness towards mob stories has us on edge. We’re not nervous at all about the invisible-killer episode “Clear and Present Danger” airing Monday, and you can head over here to check out a sneak peek!
