‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: Is Andrew Lincoln’s Rick the right leader?

While “The Walking Dead” showed in season 4 that it can be great almost regardless of the characters taking center stage, we do still feel like it is best when you have Rick Grimes front and center. Most of the story has been told through his lens, and we know him better than almost anyone else.

We also know that his leadership has led to several good decisions made by the group, even if there were a few duds sprinkled in there for good measure, as well. So what are we going to see from him in the season 5 premiere? Well, let’s start by saying that the Rick of season 4B is gone. He’s not going to be suffering or sick somewhere, allowing Carl to run off and eat as much pudding as he wants.

Rather, TV Guide reports that Rick will be trying once again to be an active leader, and the reason question will just be whether or not some other characters among the group actually allow him to take that mantel and own it. However, his leadership will also come into question, which should not be much of a stunner when you think about some of the other people in this group. You’ve got people in here including Abraham and possibly even Gareth (given what happens at Terminus), and they also have a good idea of what should be done in every given situation. They have enough history and experience to allow this to be so.
