‘Blue Bloods’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ actor to guest star

CBS LogoReady for some “Blue Bloods” scoop to kick-start your Wednesday? Then you’ll be happy to know that there is a pretty intriguing casting worth reporting now.

Per a report from TVLine, Mike Pniewski, who has appeared on “The Good Wife,” “Drop Dead Diva,” and a variety of other shows, is going to appear in at least one episode of season 5 as U.S. Marshal Vaughn. He is a character who will specifically work with Danny and Detective Baez on at least one upcoming case. Depending on what happens here, there is the potential for him to recur moving forward.

“Blue Bloods” is one of those shows that does need whatever sort of little bump it can get from a publicity standpoint, even when this just comes to booking a particular guest star. While the show does many things right, it does continually need ways to get the word out there to younger viewers. It’s probably assured a season 6 renewal just based on its total viewer count alone, but why settle for what you have? There is the potential for this family of crime-fighters to do even more than they have to date, and we just have to wait and see if they can pull that out.

For now, we at least know that there is another new episode airing on CBS Friday, and this trend will probably continue moving forward throughout the rest of the season. Hopefully, we will have some further news worth sharing on the subject very soon, so stay tuned! There are surely more castings that are still going to be announced.
