‘Chicago Fire’ season 3, episode 3 preview: A deeper look at ‘Rescue Tension’

Tomorrow, another episode of “Chicago Fire” will be upon us, which in turn means another opportunity for us to really see what is going to happen next for many of these characters.

Based on what we know right now, then tension is not going to let off at all in “Rescue Tension.” As a matter of fact, it may only continue to spike exponentially when you remember that we are dealing with firefighters who are actually in danger this time. This is a little bit of an unusual situation in many ways. It is not often that firefighters are going to have to work to save each other, and we cannot say we’ve heard too many stories in the news about their being accidents involving fire trucks. Still, it happens, and sometimes, things can go very badly as a result.

The question that we’re wondering more than anything else is this: While saving lives may be a part of the daily routine for some of these people, will it be made to be any different by the fact that there are familiar faces involved? Might the recent loss of Shay cause a little bit of trauma here? We’re concerned, but we will have to wait and see how the rest of the story plays out.

There are also some problems related to Shay’s absence that are still playing out away from this accent. For example, Severide is having a very hard time adjusting to normal life again.
