‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 5, episode 6 preview: Chalky’s surprise; Nucky deals with pain
Tonight, the story of “Boardwalk Empire” continued to go down a variety of different directions, and some of them may have finally shocked you. For Nucky, part of the challenge is just having to figure out how to handle loss in his life. You’d think it would be easier for him right now after all that he has went through, but it’s really not.
While he handles that, we also still have to try and handle the notion of seeing Daughter with a daughter … which is somewhat strange to think about. That was one of the biggest shockers tonight.
If you want to get some further details related to what you can expect, take a look at the official synopsis below via HBO:
“In Harlem, Chalky encounters Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright) in hopes of setting Daughter Maitland (Margot Bingham) free. Federal agents enlist Eli and Van Alden to help take down the Capone organization. Pained by a recent loss, Nucky turns to the bottle, and the company of a pair of barflies. In 1897, young Nucky vents his frustration to Mabel (Maya Kazan) after endorsing Jim Neary (Scott Francis Moreau), and roots out a young thief with Eli’s (Ryan Dinning) help.”
The promo below is interesting and fairly action-packed, and you have to hope this time around that this is going to actually translate over well to the episode itself. If there is one major criticism we have of season 5 so far, it is that for only eight episodes, this show is not moving quickly at all.
