‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 5, episode 5 preview: Will Nucky, Chalky survive?

Can you believe that there are only four more episodes left of “Boardwalk Empire”? That’s only four hours to try to finish telling what is one of the most complicated stories out there, and that is not a particularly easy task in the slightest.

So far, the biggest shocker to us about this season is that fans have not entirely embraced every little thing that Nucky and company have brought to the table, and for good reason. After all, there have been some moves that are more than a little bit polarizing. For example, the inclusion of all the flashbacks, and spending so much time with dialogue before anything of substance really happens.

Still, you get the sense that was is coming, and the latest preview video HBO makes that more clear than ever. Nucky and Chalky are both in danger, and you have to wonder whether they are going to take the risk of battling Capone or any of the other gangsters that are out there. Nucky may be a shrewd businessman, but he is still in some ways a little fish in a very big pond.

Do we think that both characters will be alive through this episode? We’re betting on it, given that Steve Buscemi and Michael K. Williams are two of the show’s biggest driving forces. However, they have to watch their backs, especially as we inch ever closer to what is going to be the end of the road. Also, they have to watch the backs of those they are close to.
