‘Doctor Who’ season 8, episode 7 preview: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman vs. giant spiders

Doctor Who -At this very moment, our level of excitement about Saturday’s new “Doctor Who” season 8 episode is a little all over the place, and for a very specific reason: We’re not a fan of spiders. At all. As a matter of fact, we could barely sit through the sneak peek below, and these things hardly appeared to be realistic.

These creatures are going to be on board the Moon, which is where The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) are sent for their latest mission. This does look to be one of the scarier and more action-packed episodes of the season, and it’s clear to us that showrunner Steven Moffat is really going for as much variety as possible when it comes to crafting the overall feel of this season. After all, just look at the present order of things. Last week’s episode was entitled “The Caretaker,” and it was a more personal episode that emphasized character relationships and Clara’s regular life more so than some far-out-there mission.

With all of this being said, don’t expect “Kill the Moon” to be a walk in the park from a character standpoint by any means. Based on what we hear right now, there will be events that take place during this episode that will impact and change the relationship between Twelve and Clara forever, and we have been building towards a few surprises like this for at least a little while now. Let’s just hope that it does not split the two parties up!
