TV Quick Hits: ‘The Sing Off’ renewed; ‘Shameless’ season 5 premiere date; ‘The 100’ season 2 video

“The Sing-Off” returns – While there may be less singing on TV this year with the cancellation of “The X Factor” in mind, you better still be prepared for more of “The Sing-Off.”

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the competition will return for a fifth season, and once again premiere during the holiday season. This is the second year in a row that the NBC show is going to air new episodes at this time, and it comes after the show seemed to be canceled after a failed experiment in the fall. There is no word on if the judging panel, led by the excellent Ben Folds, will all return. The same goes for longtime host Nick Lachey.

“Shameless,” more premiere dates – Since we’re apparently supposed to claim now that “Shameless” is a “comedy,” Showtime has announced premiere dates for all of their “comedies” today. They will return on Sunday, January 11, and the lineup is exactly the same. “Shameless” will air, and will be followed up by both “House of Lies” and “Episodes.” The only real difference here is that “Episodes” is coming on in the place of “Californication.”

“The 100” sneak peek – Want to see more of what you can expect from “The 100”? Then take a look at some of the first minutes of the premiere episode below! The one thing that we like about this show above all is the aesthetic of it, and that there is still a good network out there for science fiction programming. This is a genre that has started to disappear, especially since Syfy has done done the best job of covering it as of late.
