First look at ‘NCIS’ alum Cote de Pablo on ‘Dovekeepers’ set

CBS -For those of you looking forward to seeing “The Dovekeepers,” we have what is at least the first short sneak peek for you below. It doesn’t give anything away about the story, but it does allow you to see the first look at Cote de Pablo doing something new for CBS.

Cote even mentions in the video (per Variety) that this marks a big return for her after so many years on “NCIS,” and she, along with executive producer Roma Downey and Rachel Brosnahan (“House of Cards”), are currently filming the project in Malta. That is quite the exotic locale for CBS, and definitely far away from where “NCIS” films in Los Angeles.

This project is based off of the popular book, and if you head over here, you can read a little bit more about the story behind all of it. This is an ambitious move by the network to even go in this direction, given that miniseries are not necessarily a forte of CBS’ over the years. They are most-likely doing this on the heels of the success of “The Bible,” “True Detective,” and other limited series events that have aired on other networks.

Does any of this matter in terms of Cote coming back to “NCIS” at some point? As we’ve said along, we feel like it is a possibility that she will, and this gig does show that she continues to have a good relationship with the network. Clearly, location-wise it wouldn’t make any sense for her to do so in the immediate future, but who knows? There still could be something down the road.

For now, are you excited to see this project air at some point next year? Let us know in the comments, and head over here to get some further TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
