‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: Emily Kinney (finally) speaks out on Beth storyline
You really did not think that Beth was gone from “The Walking Dead,” did you? She didn’t have a whole lot of closure in season 4, and it was finally thanks to her appearing in a new promo for the show that Emily Kinney can now actually talk about her role for a change.
While she may end up crossing paths with some other familiar faces eventually, Kinney makes it clear to Entertainment Weekly that at least for the early going this season, she is going to have to do some of her work very much alone:
“It’s kind of like Beth, I am sort of isolated … All this stuff this season is really exciting and really awesome and I’m having a blast, but like last season, we were separated. So towards the end of the season I didn’t get to work with Lauren, who’s one of my best friends, or Steven. And plus, now the show is so big we all go and travel when we have time off so we don’t get to see each other as much as we used to.”
Is there anything to hope for when it comes to Beth and Daryl? The show has really not played up the romantic interests of Norman Reedus’ character much on screen, even though fans have speculated aplenty. These two, in addition to Daryl and Carol, are one of the most-popular pairs. All Kinney would say is the following:
“I would say last season what you saw, there’s definitely a connection, and a connection that’s growing. And they care about each other a lot, and so there’s definitely something really special there.”

Beth and Daryl do have a connection. It’s definitely strong with the way their eyes connect; however, for some reason it seems so wrong. I look at Daryl as a protector, not her lover. Maybe it’s due to the age factor. I don’t know, but either way I cannot wait for Season 5 to start. The days are going by way too slow. This show keeps you on the edge of your seat… That’s what I like and it’s always changing as you never know what’s going to happen.
