‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ star gets mysterious role

The Walking Dead -Ready for the latest round of mysterious casting news related to “The Walking Dead“? If so, we think that the following will certainly qualify.

Tyler James Williams, who was the title character on “Everybody Hates Chris” and who has also appeared on NBC’s “Go On,” has joined the show’s fifth season. We know that there are some out there reporting a name, but we’re going to wait on that given that so many characters have been handed “dummy names” over the years in order to confuse people. For example, if was only made known recently that Seth Gilliam was actually going to be playing the iconic comic-book role of father Gabriel.

The official news on Williams’ casting comes after the actor was spotted on the Atlanta set, which at that point gave AMC a reason to go ahead and make the news official. Filming will still be continuing for a while longer on the show’s 16-episode season, but then everyone will have a chance to sit back and unwind. Based on the riming of this news, we would almost assume that you will probably not see Williams on the show until the second half of the season, which airs in early 2015. This reminds us in some ways of when we first heard that Michael Cudlitz was going to be on board in the role of Abraham.

The season 5 premiere of “The Walking Dead” premieres on AMC come Sunday, October 12; if you haven’t seen it already, watch the latest promo here.
