‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: See Kate McKinnon, Chris Pratt get a little closer
This weekend, “Saturday Night Live” will be on the air after a summer off, and it will also be on with a host who we are very excited to see: Chris Pratt. He’s a very funny guy with “Parks and Recreation” ties, which gives us hope that Amy Poehler will turn up.
Also, he happens to be one of the hottest stars out there thanks to “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The show will almost surely do what it can to play that up, and you can see some of that in the extended promo below.
Basically, what we get from these series of clips is as follows:
- Kate McKinnon is hilarious. Seriously, she may be the best cast member on the show. She can do physical bits, but also voices, sketches, and so much more.
- Pratt seems game for just about everything, or at least anything that does not involve him having to show off his abs on just about every turn.
- Did we mention that Kate is hilarious?
- The writing for the promo is also pretty strong. Kate climbing all over Chris was funny, as was her telling him to open up a series of pickle jars for no good reason.
The musical guest for this weekend’s show is Ariana Grande, which is significant in its own way thanks to her having the capability to do a sketch or two. She does have roots in Nickelodeon comedy, which by and large revolves around performing in front of an audience.
