‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 2 preview: Kyle MacLachlan in ‘Heavy is the Head’

Tonight, Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” returned with an episode that tried to show us the new state of the organization. Phil Coulson is now director, but he has a new goal for SHIELD: To turn it into more of a covert organization than it has been previously.

Also, the premiere actually managed to pull off a trick that hasn’t really been done well since “Scrubs”: A meaningful moment between two characters, even though one of them is not actually there. That took place during that Fitz / Simmons moment at the end of the episode.

So after you are through being a little bit of choked-up over that, where is the story heading now? Well, what we can tell you right now is that the next episode of the series is entitled “Heavy Is the Head,” and one of the big additions will be “Twin Peaks” alum Kyle MacLachlan. You can also get some further details all about what to expect in the synopsis below:

“Hunted and running out of solutions, Coulson puts his team right in the line of fire in the hopes of saving them all. But with General Talbot, Hydra and Creel all on the attack, can they possibly survive? Meanwhile, a mysterious Doctor (Kyle MacLachlan) harbors some dangerous secrets that could destroy one of our core team members.”

As for the promo below, this is actually more of a “look ahead at the rest of the season” with constant action. There’s nothing in here that you can really look forward to specifically from next week.
