‘Dancing with the Stars’ 19: Kevin Hart lands guest-judging gig next week

HereTalk about a “Dancing with the Stars” gig that is out of left field!

On Monday’s edition of the ballroom competition, it was revealed that head judge Len Goodman would be taking next week off. The veteran judge travels, along with Bruno Tonioli, back to the United Kingdom every week to do “Strictly Come Dancing,” and as you would imagine, that is quite a toll in between the travel time and also the jet-lag that comes as a result of it.

We could have imagined in many ways the guest judge being almost anyone … but not really Kevin Hart. We have no idea whether or not the man has any ballroom dance experience, and we also have no idea whether or not he will be able to keep his critiques clean enough for this crowd. (Us Weekly first reported the big news.)

So why pick a guy like Kevin? The first real reason is that he is one of the hottest comics out there right now, and his movies are consistent box office performers. Also, this may be a great crossover opportunity for both him and his show. We can’t imagine many “Dancing with the Stars” viewers being the regular attendees to a Kevin Hart film, while we also cannot imagine the average Kevin Hart fan regularly watching the ballroom competition. Maybe this benefits both parties equally.

Also, we at least know that Kevin is a pretty entertaining guy, so he will bring plenty of energy and fun to the proceedings. But seeing him on a panel with Bruno? That is going to be something else.

What do you think: Is Hart a good judge, or someone that is too obviously there to promote other things? Share below, and dance over here to get some further TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
