‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: The body count will (definitely) rise

While this “Walking Dead” article may not be entirely specific, it also does not have to be for the point to ultimately get across: There are going to be deaths this season. Many of them, in fact. Also, we’re talking about significant characters to the story, and not just people that you have seen for an episode or two.

This news came to us courtesy of a new report from TVLine, but are you really that surprised by it? You really shouldn’t be. Given that the show really did not kill off anyone that major in the second half of the season, it felt like the writers would have to offset that with some shocking events during season 5. As for who is in danger, we really feel like almost everyone, at this point. We still feel like Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) are probably the most safe of the entire bunch right now, but that is not necessarily a ringing endorsement of anything in the slightest. While the show may be crazy to kill one of them, we would not necessarily put it past them to try to make some big, “shocking” move to shake the foundation of the show at its core.

The new season premieres on Sunday, October 12 on AMC, and that is really not that long away at all! Maybe use some of that time to start preparing to make some difficult goodbyes…
