‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Colton Haynes on possible romances

You want romance on “Arrow” season 3? well, it looks like you are going to get plenty of that and then some, especially if you are a fan of a few select characters from series.

We’ve heard already that Thea Queen could be getting a new love interest, and you know already that Diggle has one, and that Oliver Queen is getting closer than ever to Felicity Smoak.

Speaking to E! News, Colton Haynes (Roy) made it clear that love would be a key part of the season, and would be in many forms:

“They’ve amped up the romance … It’s a little more sexual this year. A lot more new characters, new romances, and also a lot more heart.”

In all honesty, we’re still a little torn over this. We care a little more about how these characters fight crime and take out the bad guys, and a little less about what is going on between the sheets. The other thing to consider here is that if you spend too much time with romance, you start to make it a little less exciting when a character finally finds someone who could be right for them.

At the end of the day, the real name of the game here is balance. You need to still allow for something to feel special, and often, it will not feel that way if you give it out all of the time. That’s why the Oliver / Felicity story got so much traction within the first two seasons.
