TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 3 finale review: Which Ewing family member died?

Dallas -Going into tonight’s season 3 finale of “Dallas,” we knew that there was going to be at least one character who didn’t make it out alive, and that this said character was going to be a member of the notorious Ewing family.

Well, we know now just who that character was, and it was certainly a surprising end. Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) was killed via car bomb during the two hours. We cannot say we were that surprised after seeing some of the episode play out, though we still feel like if the show wanted to truly shock us, they would have made an even bigger move and taken out a longtime main character rather than just someone from the past few seasons.

In a bizarre way, we may actually have a new Ewing even while we lost one, as we learned that John Ross has a long-lost sibling out there, and that should make for an interesting story if there is an opportunity to do so.

There were many other surprises throughout the night, including shootings and Elena realizing that she was pregnant with Nicolas’ kid, but we know that the explosion in the closing seconds will get the most attention, even more so than John Ross doing anything possible (including actually working with Pamela for a change) to ensure that Ewing Global stayed under his control. (We feel like the work politics is at times when the show is at its best.)

If this marks the end of the road for the show, at least fans can rejoice that the writers and producers put a ton into this. If there is more to come … well, we’ll just have to wait and see how they would top this. Grade: B+.
