‘Under the Dome’ season 2: Is there a reason to be hopeful about season 3 renewal?

Under the Dome -At this time last year, it was more than clear that “Under the Dome” was going to have a second season on CBS. As a matter of fact, it was official at around July that it would be coming back. That is a pretty enormous distinction compared to what we have right now.

The ratings for season 2 have been down fairly significantly, and the reviewers have not been particularly kind, either. At one point, this was one of the most exciting series on the air, but now things have taken a completely different turn.

With all of this being said, we’d definitely say that based on what Les Moonves over at CBS said today, we are going to still see plenty of action from inside and outside the dome moving forward. Per Deadline, he recently referred to the show’s model for making profits as “perfect”; the series is successful all around the globe, and also has a very rich deal with Amazon Prime for new episodes. This allows it to monetize itself successfully in both the streaming department as well as other markets.

These factors are starting to become more and more important in determining the future of a series. Back when “Beauty and the Beast” was given a surprise season 3 renewal, these were each cited as two of the most important factors in this decision being made.

We’ll have more “Under the Dome” news soon, so stay tuned.
