‘Dancing with the Stars’ 19: Lolo Jones taking elimination from show hard
It is never easy to be the first person eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars,” but we imagine that the pain here has to be so much harder when you are Lolo Jones. Her story is what initially made her into a star, but then she almost became just as known for not living up to others’ expectations at the Olympics. Basically, she became one of the most-criticized figures in sports.
So for her to go out so soon, and largely because of the mistakes that she made, seem to be hitting her very hard today. In a post on Facebook, she explained why she probably came across poorly after her performance, which in turn probably led to her exit from the show:
“When I was dancing last night and messed up I had flashbacks of the three Olympics and that people constantly tease me about. I thought oh no here it comes again. People are going to ridicule me. I’m so tired of feeling embarrassed … I joined the other competitors upstairs and I couldn’t force a smile on my face. I felt like vomiting and in between the other dances I went in a back room and fought back tears. I felt so broken. So unlovable. Embarrassed.”
For Jones, we really feel like the one thing that she hopefully learned from taking part in this crazy experience is that sometimes, it really is okay to just take a deep breath and enjoy life a little bit. So long as she expects herself to be perfect, she’s going to have a hard time.
