NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3 spoilers: Gillian Anderson officially series regular (finally!)
It may have taken long enough, but the news is finally official in regards to Gillian Anderson and “Hannibal“: The actress is finally a series regular.
According to TVLine, the promotion was made official recently for the third season, and this locks in that the former “X-Files” star has a commitment to do more of this show for at least the upcoming 13 episodes. It is already fair to assume that Bedelia is going to have a particularly large story on the show this season, judging mostly from how season 2 ended: With her and Hannibal both aboard a plane heading off to Europe. They have a unique dynamic and relationship that will work very differently than what we’ve seen from Mads Mikkelsen’s character and other people.
As for most of season 3, we should tell you right now that this is not going to be the same sort of series at all that you saw the first two times around. Rather than be in America or even a procedural, it will be a heavily-serialized show at first as Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) does what he can in an effort to try and track down his adversary, who may be posing as a married couple with Bedelia. Based on at least some of the reports that we are hearing right now, it appears as though the two could end up being found out in some way, and that could help Will end up getting closer to figuring out just where he is.
There is no confirmed return date yet, but expect to see more of the show in early 2015.
