‘Bachelor in Paradise’ finale: Chris Harrison on Cody Sattler – Michelle Money relationship

Sometimes on any version of “The Bachelor,” you really have no idea what is going to happen. Going into “Bachelor in Paradise” this season, for example, we definitely did not imagine that we would be seeing Cody Sattler and Michelle Money getting together. They come from very different worlds, and seemed to have different personalities.

However, their love story became almost incredibly sweet to watch just because it was so real. It was human for Michelle to have doubts, and for the two at first to be at different places emotionally. Over time, though, the two manages to eventually get on the same page, and are together even to this day.

Few people are as happy about this as show host Chris Harrison, who knows Michelle well and has seen her journey unfold for many years. In his Entertainment Weekly blog this week, he went on to explain his surprise at the two parties getting together, and then making the relationship work to this day:

“Cody and Michelle have shocked me from the beginning probably because it’s shocked Michelle just as much… Cody and Michelle are easily the most unlikely couple to come out of this franchise …  say this because Michelle didn’t see it coming herself. You hear about somebody being swept off their feet, but with Cody you actually saw it happen. He came in and blew her away.”

While Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul are also still together and engaged, we imagine that their ending lacks a little bit of that same shock value since it was clear from the second episode that they were probably going to make it to the end. (Plus, every media outlet out there other than us chose to spoil their engagement and ruin the show for everyone.)
