‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: The future of Bran becomes more complicated
Is Bran Stark really going to be gone from “Game of Thrones” season 5, after all? The picture there is starting to become a little bit muddier.
Yesterday, the news first hit the internet that Kristian Nairn (otherwise known as Hodor) will not be running around as the famous character at any point in the show’s upcoming fifth season. With that, it was easy to take the leap and think that this meant we would not be seeing any of Bran Stark, either. The two have traveled together, and the best moment for Bran during season 4 was him warging into Hodor’s body and causing all sorts of crazy damage.
However, a new interview Isaac Hempstead-Wright did with On Demand Entertainment (thanks to Winter is Coming for the find) complicates matters a little bit. In this chat, which is primarily promotion for “The Boxtrolls,” Wright makes it fairly clear that he does have work on “Game of Thrones” to do in the near future. Could this mean that we will see some sort of Bran sequence without Hodor, however that may happen? It’s confusing, but we don’t imagine Isaac was lying in this interview.
Somehow, we imagine that the show will work it out, but so far audience reaction has not been favorable. This ultimately further shows off the problem HBO is in with being caught up to the George R.R. Martin books already with some storylines. There is not a whole lot else to do with Bran for the time being, and this at least allows the focus to be given more on the other important characters.
