Conan O’Brien, Chris Hardwick talk Joan Rivers’ death on ‘Conan’
The reaction to Joan Rivers‘ death is still pouring in right now, and we now have one of the first videos from the late-night world.
Conan O’Brien addressed the subject of Rivers’ passing during a taping of his show earlier today, and you can see and his guest Chris Hardwick reminisce about her life and impact in the video below. Hardwick did a wonderful Nerdist podcast with Joan a couple of years ago, where he talked a little about going to see her in Las Vegas, and also the impact that her comedy had on almost everyone on TV when it comes to battling censorship and putting your personal stamp on something.
Here, Chris also explains how that interview ended up being a jumping-off point of a friendship between the two parties, where she would often call him with questions about digital media, the internet, and modern technology. This further proved just how interested Joan was constantly in the world around her, and this included even working to ensure that she was up to date on what are the latest technologies in the world.
It is still a shame that we are losing Joan now, mostly because we know that there were a number of other great venues that she could have otherwise appeared at over the next few years. She was working right up to the time of her death, and based on what we know about her, she would not have wanted it any other way. Not only that, but she would probably want people laughing about her again starting tomorrow.
