Is Lindsay about to get some serious competition when it comes to being with Severide on “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Fire“? It certainly appears that way, at least based on the latest news that we have for you today.
Per a new report from Deadline, Serinda Swan of “Graceland” fame has signed on to recur in at least four episodes as Brittany Baker, a graphic design expert who could potentially connect with Taylor Kinney’s character in a romantic way. First of all, it’s a shame that she is not a baker by trade. Second of all, let’s hope that nothing happens to Severide and Lindsay! They are one of the best links between the two shows.
Just in case you were worried about whether or not this role could inhibit Swan from doing more “Graceland,” or if it was an indicator about whether or not USA is picking up the show, don’t read into it. Since this is only a temporary gig, there is zero reason why this would keep Swan from doing anything else. The best way to look at this right now is merely a great opportunity to see more of the actress in something else.
The new season of “Chicago Fire” premieres on NBC come Tuesday, September 23, and from the get-go the initial concern will simply be whether or not all of the characters in the firehouse survive the explosion. At least one will not, and that will put the characters into a dark place almost immediately.
