‘Supernatural’ season 10: See Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, demons in new poster

Let’s start with the good: The “wrestle your demons” tagline is pretty good, and we like the color palette used a whole lot here with the reds and the blues. This suits where we are on the show perfectly, given that Demon Dean will be a major part of the storyline for at least the first few episodes of the show. Being sure to include Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard alongside Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles serves as a nice reminder that all four of them are series regulars.

As for the negatives, let’s turn to the images themselves. Haven’t we seen them before? The reality here is that The CW reuses photos like nobody’s business, and many of the promos and posters they release often feel like an exercise in PhotoShop. We understand why in many ways, given that it’s expensive to do a lot of photo shoots, and “Supernatural” filming first and foremost is the top priority. It’s just a bummer because we feel like they do have great ideas a good percentage of the time, and they just fall through in the execution.

There are many cool things still to come on “Supernatural” when it premieres on Tuesday, October 7, and who knows? Maybe the network will actually release some genuinely cool promo art before that time.
