‘Outlander’ episode 5 preview: Rent, and reasons for Claire to wor

So far, “Outlander” has aired four episodes, and most of them have provided a varying sense of perspective on both the Claire character, and the shocking new world that she finds herself in.

Is she starting to adjust to what life in Scotland is like? Sure, but it is more than fair to say that this has not been a very easy transition period for her at all. We’ve seen plenty of evidence of this already in what she went through with The Gathering, and an escape plan that went completely awry.

So for the next new episode, her story is changing course once again as she sees a very different part of what this world is like. Unfortunately for her, she’s also set to realize that she finds herself at an even more precarious moment in history than anything she has experienced already. For some further details, just take a look at the attached synopsis:

Claire goes along on the MacKenzies’ trip to collect rents, and witnesses Dougal using Jamie’s scars to elicit sympathy for the cause of the Jacobites. Later, she realizes a momentous event in Scottish history is coming up fast.”

It is ultimately no secret why this show has managed such a big following in a tiny amount of time: It combines so many different elements of a popular series. There’s a little action, a little history, and an element of science fiction in here, as well. However successful the show is right now, it’s only going to expand when more and more people start to get invested into it. It has at least a few universal qualities to it, and that can certainly be appealing.
