‘Hell on Wheels’ season 4, episode 5 preview: Cullen meets an old ‘friend’

Part of what makes “Hell on Wheels,” and the time in which it is also set, so interesting is by and large the feeling of open space. You can leave somewhere and truly start again, and rarely do you ever have to worry about someone from your former life coming back into your world.

However, this is something, surprising enough, that a certain Cullen Bohannon is going to have to worry about on this weekend’s new episode. In the sneak peek video below, you have an opportunity to meet Sid for the first time, who has some specific memories of Anson Mount’s character from their time in the war together.

This is going to most likely make for an interesting dynamic, given that this is a part of Cullen’s life that he had left in the past, and he may have done things there that he did not want rising back to the surface. Still, we understand the timing of this character being introduced to the world, since it gives another new personality to the railroad. With Elam gone, we have been missing that.

So when in the world is Common going to come back? You’ve probably heard already that the actor is not done with the show, but is only around in a smaller capacity. We imagine him showing up at some point when you least expect it, and that will make his arrival all the more interesting. Hopefully, it will also pull Eva out from the terrible slump that she currently finds herself in.
