‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Is ‘Supernatural’ alum set to play Cupid?
In all honesty, we’re surprised that the “superhero stalker” storyline does not play out more than it does. Anytime you have someone wearing a fancy costume and saving lives, they are going to develop a fan following. With that, there are sure to be some particularly crazy fans.
Per Entertainment Weekly, one of these “fans” for Oliver Queen on “Arrow” season 3 is going to be Carrie Cutter. Amy Gumenick (who played Mary Winchester on “Supernatural“) is set to guest star as a particularly-obsessed individual. In the comics, she eventually carries with her the alter ego of Cupid, and she is mentally unstable as a result of extensive testing in the military. (Comic spoilers ahead.) She goes on to become a notable villain for the Green Arrow, and starts to use very desperate measures, including killing people, in order to get his attention.
It is still a little early to tell if the show will go completely in this direction, but it is nice to see that there is a new character coming on whose roots are exclusive from the Green Arrow comics. We say that mostly thanks to the fact that the Big Bad for this season is someone in Ra’s al Ghul better known as a Batman foe, and one of the other major characters this season is Ray Palmer, a hero in his own right. It’s going to be an interesting season, and one with many familiar DC faces.
“Arrow” season 3 premieres on The CW come Wednesday, October 8, and we are hopefully going to have many more updates on the show before that time.
