‘Glee’ season 6: Lea Michele spends first week recording new songs
“Glee” may only have 13 episodes for its final season, but it definitely looks like it is still the same show that you have come to enjoy over the past few years … at least so long as you enjoy the musical numbers.
The show is already into the recording process for new songs, and in addition to Naya Rivera hitting the studio (which we reported recently), Lea Michele is doing the same exact thing. In a post on Twitter, Lea confirmed that she recorded five songs in her first week back on the show, which will start filming in earnest after Labor Day Weekend wraps up. Why do so many songs at one time? We imagine that this is a way to streamline production, and to make it so that they don’t have to send the actress back to the studio often in between filming episodes. It’s also probably cheaper this way, and we feel like the show needs to find a few creative ways here and there to save money given the low ratings.
The sixth season of “Glee” does not have a premiere date, and probably won’t for some time. However, we do know a little about the plot! Lea’s Rachel Berry will have failed in her attempt to be a big TV star, and thanks to that, she will be back in Ohio when the show returns. When she and the other McKinley alum see the lack of a glee club, they will do what they can to get the group up and running again. It restores the show to its roots, and at the same time, it also does not necessarily take away the “dreams come true” ending for any cast member. This entire season could just be contained in a short amount of time.
