‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Glee,’ ‘Awkward’ alum to share past with Felicity Smoak
Is the world of “Arrow” about to get a little more “Awkward”? Well, the show is at least bringing on someone from that MTV show’s universe for a guest spot coming up this season.
Sources confirm that Nolan Funk, who you may also know from a brief stint on “Glee,” will appear on the excellent CW series in the role of Cooper Seldon. He is a computer hacker who dated Felicity Smoak briefly during her days at MIT, but it has not been confirmed just yet if he is going to appear in the present or the past on the show.
Funk is, interestingly enough, the second Dalton Academy Warbler to make his way to the series, as Grant Gustin played Barry Allen last season on “Arrow,” and of course now has his own upcoming show on “The Flash.” Ironically, either are planning to do any singing here as far as we are concerned.
We do know that Funk has a talent for playing shady or mischievous characters, given that his role on “Awkward” was a philanderer and a drug abuser despite still being in high school.
The Felicity episode, in case you have not heard, is entitled “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” and is slated to be the fifth one on the docket this season. Another guest star for the episode is Charlotte Ross, playing the part of Felicity’s mother Donna (which definitely has its own distinct DC connection).
What do you think of the casting, and do you appreciate that Emily Bett Rickards is getting so many different people to work with on season 3? (Remember, she’s also got Ray Palmer coming up.)
