‘Fargo’ season 2: Could Allison Tolman return at any point in the future?
Are we going to be seeing a different side of Allison Tolman on “Fargo” in the future? Maybe at some point, we’ll get to see the show’s breakout star in another role … but that is not going to be in the second season.
Speaking to TVLine while on the red carpets for the Emmys last night (where both she and Julia Roberts of “The Normal Heart” surprisingly lost to Kathy Bates of “American Horror Story: Coven”), Tolman proclaimed that it is very unlikely we’ll see her turn up in season 2. Given that the story is a flashback of sorts to a great case involving her father, the only way that it could happen is if the series decided to leap forward to the present at some point.
As for future seasons, Tolman says that she will keep her “fingers crossed,” and we will do the same. With this being said, though, we have a very hard time imagining that she will have a difficult time landing work after this. This show proved her to be a fantastic performer, and she may have so many other offers that she has to clear her schedule if or when a “Fargo” season 3 rolls around.
Season 2 of the FX drama is still in the early development stages, and since there are not even any actors cast yet, there’s no telling when the show will actually come out. We have a hard time thinking that it will be in the early spring again unless the producers really get going at a rapid pace.
