‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards start ‘Felicity episode’
For those of you who olive Oliver and Felicity on “Arrow,” or for those of you who just love updates from a production standpoint, you should be happy to know the follow: Filming has begun for “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.”
Multiple sources confirm that the episode is underway, and Stephen Amell posted on Twitter Monday that he has already worked with Charlotte Ross, who plays Felicity’s interesting-named mother Donna on the show. Emily Bett Rickards has also been on set working with her, which of course makes a whole lot of sense given the nature of this episode.
This episode was originally titled “Oracle,” which had some heavy DC implications to its name, and will be the fifth one that airs this fall. Based on all of the other airdates, we’re looking at something in early November here. Most of the first five episodes have all had some sort of specific character focus to them. “The Calm” centers around Oliver, while “Sara” is of course Sara Lance, “Corto Maltese” is Diggle, and “The Magician” is Malcolm Merlyn and Thea Queen. Meanwhile, there is at least going to be one other episode in this vein focusing on Roy Harper in the future.
If we can understand more of who Felicity is, then maybe we will also have a further reason to be hopeful about whether or not she and Oliver can ever be together … maybe. We’re going to keep holding out hope on that front like the happy ‘shipper of the two that we are.
