‘True Blood’ series finale: How Alexander Skarsgard got emotional over it
Sometimes, the most emotional moments come when you do not expect them, and this seems to be the case very much so far Alexander Skarsgard. The man behind the classic “True Blood” character of Eric Northman thought that he was going to be handle to handle saying goodbye to him somewhat easily, and that has not turned out to be entirely the case.
Speaking about the series finale to E! News, Alexander Skarsgard claims that he found himself very conflicted following the end of the show. He was prepared to say goodbye to Eric, but still somewhat distraught when it was over:
“It was the saddest moment of my career, for sure … I was ready to move on creatively. I thought it was time, so I was sort of prepared for it, but I cried like a baby. It was so sad. The last couple of weeks leading up to my final scenes that I shot were extremely emotional. I’m already missing it.”
Skarsgard says that Kristin Bauer van Straten has a set of his fangs waiting for him back in the United States, as he is currently busy shooting the new “Tarzan” movie in London. This has kept him away from doing a whole lot of press for the final season, though the cross-section of this finale and also the new movie “The Giver” changed that at least temporarily.
As for what sort of ending Eric could have, we hope that he lives after going through that gigantic scare throughout the first half of this season. We like to think of him continuing to partner up with Pam for various adventures, whatever they may be for the two parties.
