‘NCIS’ season 12: Michael Weatherly, others filming ‘New Orleans’ crossover
“NCIS” season 12 will not be wasting a whole lot of time crossing over with the upcoming “New Orleans” series. As a matter of fact, we know that production on the big event is already beginning.
According to Michael Weatherly’s Twitter, he is already in the Crescent City filming what could be one of the most entertaining episodes of the early part of this season. He didn’t have a chance to be a part of the last crossover, and this one will implement a number of the characters who were not around for it last time.
As for what the specific story is, details of that are still unclear. If we were to guess, though, the easy assumption here is that it will be a case that needs the joint effort of both offices. While we know that Washington has more resources and is in some ways more technically-advanced, there is a certain sort of rustic skill that can come from working with more limited resources.
This crossover will be a few episodes into the new season (premiering September 23), so there will be plenty more opportunities to enjoy everything else coming up. Some other things to expect was a new villain, a flashback story for Ducky, and eventually the chance to meet Bishop’s husband and also Gibbs’ second ex-wife. Those two stories are a little bit later down the line, though, given that casting for the two characters have not been announced yet.
This fall, new episodes of “NCIS: New Orleans” will air directly after the original.
