Will Michelle Borth be back on “Hawaii Five-0” as Catherine moving forward into season 5? This is a big question right now, and for good reason. Borth was downgraded from a series regular after the fourth season, and that in a sense means that she is gone from the show … at least for now.
Luckily, there is still at least a little bit of hope for the character if you are a fan. Speaking to TVLine, show executive producer Peter M. Lenkov teases that there are some hopes and plans right now to find a way to get Borth back on the series:
“I’m definitely hoping to get [her] back, but I’m not sure when that will happen … But there will be some type of closure [for her story with McGarrett].”
We’ll just have to wait and see what happens here when the show returns to TV in late September, but we do know that there are some plans for now to get McGarrett a new love interest. Given what people think about the relationship he had with Catherine, expectations are going to high. All we have to hope is that we continue to be both entertained and surprised by what unfolds with this crazy show. This is the fifth season, and at this point the show clearly knows itself. They are just trying to add some new faces here and there with Jorge Garcia signing on permanently and with other guest stars.
