Robin Williams dead at 63; suicide suspected
TV audiences probably knew Robin first from his days on “Mork & Mindy,” but obviously that was just a stepping stone to a remarkable career. From “Mrs. Doubtfire” to “Patch Adams” to “Good Will Hunting” to “One Our Photo,” the man achieved enough to make an entire industry jealous.
Most recently, you probably saw him on “The Crazy Ones” over on CBS, where he was the star for a season prior to the show’s cancellation. To be honest, though, our biggest memories of him come via talk shows, and his multiple gigs presenting at awards. He was the reason we watched many of them, just for his quick wit, energy, and spark. He always tried his best to entertain, and really bring you into his world. You wanted to believe that you knew him, and he was the fun guy who’d mask his own demons just for the sake of cheering you up. The fact that he had so many demons is what makes the news today even harder to swallow.
Obviously, we’re going to be updating this story often as more information comes in, so be sure to refresh. The most important thing that we can stress is that this man is an icon and someone we grew up watching and loving, and he will be sorely missed. Thoughts, condolences, and all of our emotion goes out to his family and loved ones.
