‘Longmire’ season 4: Four reasons why a renewal may happen
Can you believe that tonight is the first Monday in months without “Longmire“? That’s a sad thought, and one that probably makes you want to get season 4 here even faster.
So with that in mind, we want to do everything in our power to lend a helping hand! Therefore, we’ve come up with four reasons why you should be at least fairly optimistic at the moment about a renewal, even if there is no timetable for an announcement just yet. The cast doesn’t know anything yet, but with that sort of cliffhanger ending, we like to think that’s an added motivation to bring it back.
Now, let’s turn to that list.
1. A&E is still actively promoting the show online. We realize that this is not always a guarantee of anything, but we would classify it under “welcome sign,” since it suggests that there is still a push nearly a week after the finale to keep it fresh in mind.
2. Social-media presence – You do not often have this with shows that do skew a little older, but we know more and more that networks value this. How many other programs on A&E really have this? We’d stop with “Bates Motel” and “Duck Dynasty” after this one.
3. Ratings – While down slightly from the end of season 2, this is still the most-watched scripted series from the network. While you could say that “The Glades” was still canceled despite having solid ratings in its fourth season, it didn’t hold that “most-watched” title at the time.
4. Location – This is a big one. The reason why New Mexico has become a destination for some TV shows is that it offers some nice tax incentives, which keeps costs low for studio Warner Bros. TV. Also, this studio is very good about getting it shows additional seasons. Just look at what they did for “Fringe.”

Longmire has the same quality as Breaking Bad did due to the fabulous acting and terrific scripts, in addition that both shows are and were shot in New Mexico. Walt Longmire conveys a great role model. I believe our President could use some of Longmire’s qualities, but he is too devious and is more like Jacob Nighthorse. Renew Longmire, but you can cancel the rest of the Presidents term as far as I am concerned.

Each Monday night I recorded the show and watched it three times. It actually takes watching an episode three times to understand everything that’s happening. I am in sad shape this week as we didn’t have another episode. There has to be another season. Too many unanswered questions remain. -Who was shot? When will Vic and Walt FINALLY get together? What about Branch? I want him back. Will Walt finally solve Martha’s murder?
The biggest problem is HOW can I wait until next spring/summer for these answers? This show needs to be played and advertised more. It’s a gem!!
By the way, I have purchased and read all of Craig Johnson’s books. Love them too. More. please. I live in Ohio and appreciate stories with this depth written about an area of our country that’s not set in a big city. Walt is a modern-day John Wayne. LOVE this show!!!!!

I’m shocked to learn that there’s any hesitation at all by the network to bring back Longmire. Are you kidding me? This is top-notch television in a sea of banality. Please do everyone a favor and keep quality TV from becoming another victim of the dumbed-down reality-TV insanity!

This is the one show on TNT worth watching, so why would they even consider not renewing it????? Great acting, great story lines, great scenery…..what does the rest of their line-up offer; trailer trash, family of bimbos, etc. etc. etc. Bring back Longmire!

it saddens me to think that shows like “Honey BooBoo” Survivor. Big Brother, The Kardashiens , Naked and Afraid, will never be taken off, We enjoy this show, and the actors.

I really hope this show returns. Does it have to be a fight every time a great show hits it’s season end these days? This is the closest thing to a western around. I hope everyone backs this talented bunch of actors and this top notch show.

Really enjoyed watching “Longmire”, the cast is phenomenal. Not to mention Mr. Lou Diamond Phillips! The best! I am a longtime fan! So please bring back “Longmire”, there are not good shows like this on TV! Everything is geared toward the apocalypse, if there is one more show about the end of the World I will scream! So please…please…please bring it back!
