‘Suits’ season 5 official; USA renews Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht series yet again
Was there ever any real doubt about “Suits” getting another run on USA? We have a hard time thinking that there was. This is one of the network’s most-beloved shows both critically and commercially, and with all of that in mind, we’re super-thrilled today that a season 5 will air starting in 2015.
For those wanting finer details, the new season will consist once again of 16 episodes, which we’re sure will be broken up into a summer and winter run as per the tradition. We also anticipate the entire cast being back, unless of course there is some sort of crazy shocker coming in the episodes ahead.
In a statement confirming the news, USA programming ahead Chris McCumber was of course elated:
“Suits continues to fire on all cylinders, delivering provocative storytelling and complex characters that viewers can’t get enough of … With some of the best writing on television, and a brilliant ensemble cast, we anticipate a spectacular fifth season for a series that has become a marquee property for USA.”
This news does not make the future of any of USA’s other shows any clearer at the moment. The status of “Royal Pains” beyond this summer is not entirely clear, and we also continue to wait and see if “Graceland” gets another go. “White Collar” has already filmed its final season, and we worry about new series “Rush” and “Satisfaction” after neither one of them got off to a particularly great start in the ratings this summer. The network does need a new hit desperate to go along with its established ones, and “Suits” is currently leading the pack.
What do you think about this news, and how long do you think that “Suits” could ultimately stay on the air for? Share some of your thoughts with a comment, and head over here to get some further
