‘Hell on Wheels’ season 4, episode 3 preview: Anson Mount, ‘Chicken Hill,’ and the familiar

Hell on Wheels -Going into “Hell on Wheels” season 4, you most-likely assumed that at some point, we were going to eventually see a certain Cullen Bohannon out of the Mormon commune, and back doing what he is known for: The railroad. Of course, that is not going to come without complications, given that this is not a man who tends to enjoy a whole lot of oversight. (Just ask The Swede.)

The new episode airing on AMC next week is entitled “Chicken Hill,” which could be seen as a reference to a multitude of things. What is most important to note for the time being is that we will see Anson Mount’s character struggling to adapt with a new form of occupational oversight, just as Durant is going to suffer the same fate in a completely different way.

For a few more details right now, take a look at the official synopsis via AMC:

Cullen goes back to work on the railroad and butts heads with his new boss. Meanwhile, Durant and Campbell clash over a valuable piece of real estate.”

In the end, we expect further to see some of the same themes that we had in the episode tonight carry over to next week, and part of that is seeing how much of this world adapts to changes coming from the east. The West is no longer so free, so can the likes of Cullen and Durant really preserve their familiar way of life? They have not always seen eye-to-eye, but they may need to right now.
