How ‘NCIS’ season 12, ‘New Orleans’ spin-off will differ

Even for the “NCIS” faithful, it is asking a lot to watch three hours a week that are all based around the same concept. “CSI” did show for many years that it is possible, but one of the challenges that goes along with this is trying to find a way that every show stands out, while still following along the same sort of wavelength.

So how are the producers of “NCIS: New Orleans” looking to be their own show, while still containing some of the themes of the original? For one, they are really injecting some of that hometown flavor. According to Entertainment Weekly, the plan for now is to try and make many of the cases on the spin-off deeply related to the community, which is made easier thanks to the show actually filming in the Big Easy. They can capture some of that flavor so much easier!

Also, another interesting difference is that the New Orleans office is hardly as proficient in the resources department as the Los Angeles and DC ones are. They have figure out how to make the most out of whatever they have. This will probably give the show a much more rustic approach, and there are only so many people on the ground that can be called out for help.

Given that “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans” will be airing on the same night this fall (“NCIS: Los Angeles” has been moved to Mondays), you are probably going to get a great opportunity to really enjoy both shows, and also notice their differences at the same time.
