‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: The latest on Liz Keen and Ressler
Is it really possible that we could see a Liz / Ressler pairing on “The Blacklist”? If nothing else, it’s at least something that will at least be a possibility given that the two are now single … even if it may or may not be fully explored in a direct fashion.
While executive producer John Eisendrath is (understandably) being coy about what could be coming up for the Ressler character, he did tell TV Guide that the plan is to “put him in emotionally vulnerable places” following the trauma that he dealt with last season. Also, “by putting him in those positions, it will give Liz an opportunity to reach out to him and support him in a way that will deepen their relationship.”
To us, this sounds like the producers are mostly keeping the door open. They don’t want to guarantee anything that may or may not happen, but they’ll see how the story goes. For Liz, we imagine that much of the challenge is going to be ensuring that she does not become one to give in and trust to soon. For Tom, she obviously didn’t see any of the perceived red flags before it was too late. The last thing that she ever wants to do is feel like she is making the same mistake again, so she’ll be much more aware of that.
As for Ressler, the issue here may merely be that of mourning. With his present emotional state, why jump into anything before you have to?

Yes!!! Ressler and Liz should so hook up! You should make it to where it’s hard but easy…it will so spice up the show. I LOVE REDDINGTON!

I would love to see Ressler and Liz hook up. Not right away but first a really close friendship and then romance. Ressler is my favorite character and I want to see lots more of him. And of course Reddington is great.
