‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: New promo talks ‘Is Red Liz’s father?’ question

That question in the title is the one that has haunted “The Blacklist” since the very beginning, and there is another question that goes along with it: Are we going to get that answer soon?

Based on the official promo below from NBC, they make it sound like you will be getting answers soon. We’re just not entirely sure that this will be so. The entire premise of the show revolves around the relationship between Raymond Reddington and Elizabeth Keen, so giving us an answer to this question right now feels like it would be a little bit premature. There’s already so much more to mine out of this story, especially stemming from the burns that he revealed on his back during the closing minutes of the finale last spring. He was there at the fire … seemingly. That just doesn’t mean that he is the father.

Unfortunately, the promo does not really discuss a whole lot else, but you are going to see much of the same stuff that you’ve come to expect from the show over the years. That means more members of the list, more action, and of course more surprises. We already have a few coming in the guest-star department. Krysten Ritter is going to have a huge role to play in the first episode of the season, and Mary-Louise Parker of “Weeds” fame is going to have a large role in basically a big chunk of the season. We’ll have to wait and see what plays out.
