‘The Bachelorette’: Nick Viall explains his Andi Dorfman – fantasy suite remark
On Monday night’s “The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose,” there were a moment that can certainly be added to the annals of “craziest moments that we’ve seen on the show.”
Does everyone know that there are some seedy things that happen in the fantasy suites on the show? Sure, and we talk all about it in our most recent podcast. We also defended Nick Viall for his comment about he and Andi Dorfman “making love” to each other while on the overnight date.
Speaking to E! News, Nick tried to explain further the context of why he said this remark, that it wasn’t his intention going into this to embarrass her, and how the body language that Andi had in speaking to him influenced the conversation greatly:
“I definitely wish I had that opportunity to have that conversation with her in private. I did not go into last night expecting to ask her that. I was just so caught off guard by her demeanor. It wasn’t so much about the sex but the level of intimacy that night and given the situation at the time I made it very clear where I was in my feelings for her and what something like that meant to me. I was just so caught off guard that it sort of just came out. If I had any regrets, I didn’t want to humiliate her or make her feel that way. I feel very sorry if she did feel that way.”
Basically, we still believe that had Andi either spoken to him before this event, or if she had been a little less distant during it, this may not have happened. Nick does still have to take responsibility for it, but at the end of the day, so does she for sleeping with him. This is all a part of the process, and anything that happens with this series is ultimately fair game.
Do you like Nick’s response to all this was appropriate, or do you think he didn’t even need to respond? As always, you can let us know in the comments! Also, click here if you want to get some other TV updates on all we cover via our newsletter.
