‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham star in awesome teaser

“The Vampire Diaries” didn’t have a whole lot of time to film the sixth season prior to Comic-Con, so there was not a full trailer that came with the cast and producers to San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.

However, what they did end up bringing should be just as entertaining to everyone out there. In the video below, you can see Ian Somerhalder (Damon) and Kat Graham (Bonnie) star in a hilarious bit chronicling their revelation about being “killed off” on the show, and they try to justify what is going on in a number of different ways. They first claim that the love they have from their fellow co-stars will keep them safe, and then they also suspect that they could be getting their own spin-off show. Ian also throws a nice little reference to “Lost” in here, which is great for those of you who really remember him as Boone.

Most of the show’s stars also get very involved here in different ways as they “react” to the potential departure of these two actors. Candice Accola tells a funny story all about a sandwich, Michael Trevino claims that he wants Tyler to hook up now with Elena, and Nina Dobrev tries to find a way to break apart Ian’s dressing room so that she can double the size of her own. In the end, all very funny stuff. Even Joseph Morgan of “The Originals” ends up getting in on the act with a particularly terrifying cameo.

We know in reality that both Ian and Kat will be back for new episodes, but the start of the season will be about trying to show us where they are and where their journey goes from here. Meanwhile, Elena and the others will be mourning them in Mystic Falls and beyond, and Dobrev’s character won’t have another love interest right away.
