‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Kristian Nairn, Daniel Portman look at the past, future
With this summer being a big one in regards to “Game of Thrones” filming, it’s always nice to get some more reflection from some of the actors who play a major part in the show.
Earlier this week, that focus was on Finn Jones, who plays the part of Loras Tyrell on the show. Now, we’ve got some video highlights courtesy of Kristian Nairn (Hodor) along with Daniel Portman (Podrick). We love both of these actors and characters, so it’s always nice to get that added perspective.
The news that we have from these two parties today comes from Flicks in the City, who captured a ton of video chats with all sorts of familiar faces while at London Film and Comic-Con recently. These chats include some talk about the convention experience, but also the path of their characters, looking towards the future, and the general feeling that comes with being a part of what has become an iconic franchise pretty much all around the world. Everyone knows “Game of Thrones,” and it is thanks to the stellar writing, the acting, and the glorious sense of scale.
As for what we want for these two characters moving into season 5 (other than knowing why Pod is so good with all of the ladies), survival is somewhere near the top of the list. We basically just want to see if their true purposes are revealed, and for Hodor that may be especially hard given that he has a one-word vocabulary. All it has been so far has been “carry Bran around,” and also be a vessel for warging so Bran can take out opponents.
